The Citizens of Pisan are named after the writer Christine de Pisan, who wrote what is considered to be the first feminist book “The book of the city of ladies” in 1402. Each chapter in the book works as a building block in the city and each block honours a woman that have had a significant role in society. This jewelry project draw upon that book and continues to honour women with meaningful contributions to the world.
The citizens of Pisan are handmade jewelry that is designed to be multifunctional, elegant and playful. Each citizen is equipped with hooks so you can explore and personalise the style by adding and hooking.
With each citizen a card from The Deck of Citizens follows. These are illustrations that comes with a collection of quotes, notes and information about inspirational women.
